Packnatur® Pop-up Bag

nominated for Green Packaging Star Award 2021
With the development of a grocery net bag made of LENZING™ Modal beechwood fibre, from the thinning of local woods, VPZ presents an ecological addition to their product range. The Packnatur® Pop-up Bag is practical, durable and can be returned to the natural cycle at the end of its life.

When the new Packnatur® production facility opened in 2019 in Neudau (Styria, Austria) a Centre of Competence for textile packaging was established at the same time. Its purpose is to find and implement innovative ideas and applications concerning beechwood-based textile packaging such as the new grocery net bag –  the Packnatur® Pop-up Bag. A wide network consisting of designers, textile engineers and handicraft enterprises makes it possible to develop modern, resource-saving, sustainable and high-quality packaging options in short amounts of time.

The initial market launch of the Packnatur® Pop-up Bag took place at INTERSPAR, the Austrian market leader for hyper markets. INTERSPAR is Austria’s growth leader in large-scale retail space, operates 74 INTERSPAR markets and employs around 10,000 people.
