AUSTRIAN SCULPTURE PARK 2012 MICHAELA HUBMANN, CHRISTINE MAUERHOFER, ELISE GUILLEMIN
Students from the Institute of Contemporary Art at Graz University of Technology have interspersed the long-established, permanent works in the Austrian Sculpture Park with new, self-decomposing temporary works composed of transient flowers.
Biodegradable net sacks have been filled with earth and grass seeds and have each produced a single purple, orange or yellow-coloured pixel, creating a picture from a meadow of flowers.
Over time, the ‘pixel flowers’ will disappear as the grass in the sacks grows, reverting the picture back to a green lawn.
